Tour: Radiohead

When you work a day job and can only post after the kids are in bed, you miss out on being the first site to post the news that Radiohead has announced a U.S. tour and have released a list of the cities they’ll be hitting to support ‘In Rainbows’. But, if somehow the news managed to escape you until now, here are the fuzzy details: there will be two legs of the U.S. tour, the first starting before Radiohead kicks off a European tour on June 6, the second starting after the European tour comes to an end, sometime after July 8. No other info (venues, dates, etc.) has been released other than the list of cities.

My boyfriend and I play Guitar Hero III together on our Wii. I play bass and he plays guitar, both on ‘Hard’ level.

He got frustrated and quit the band.

I’m looking for a replacement. I must admit it will be extremely difficult finding someone with the same skills, he was frickin’ awesome.

Me: a Muppet.
You: must be ok with playing in a band with a Muppet. A muppet who is prone to throwing tantrums.

Maybe she should give Conrad a call (link credit: SuburbanBliss.net).

And whatever happened to the “popular” cheerleader from the video? Turns out Sarah Sebestyen has a singing career of her own these days, though her country-style is far removed from the indie rock sounds of Nada Surf.

Heavy Metal Parking Lot: Van Halen

Michael Butler hosts a great (and regularly updated) metal podcast called the Rock and Roll Geek Show (you can subscribe via iTunes). In addition to being a podcasting nut, Butler just recently got off the road, touring as the bassist for the recently reunited Jetboy. Butler got the gig because he also plays in American Heartbreak with Jetboy guitarist Billy Rowe. I also just learned recently that Butler played with the thrash band Exodus from 1990-1992.

Butler and his Rock and Roll Geek Show co-host Casey Crenshaw (who also is in American Heartbreak) took their video camera down to a Van Halen reunion show and conducted some parking lot interviews. The results are pretty hilarious, especially the part where Crenshaw thinks he’s going to get hit (fast forward to the 4:58 mark).
